Jordann William "JW" Edwards (born January 22, 1996) is an American cartoonist, comic artist, musician, screenwriter, producer, director and aspiring entrepreneur. He is the creator of The Dynamite Twins and Friends as well as one of the brand managers and franchise editors.
Life and career
Born in Montgomery, Ohio, but raised on the border of Springdale, Forest Park, and Fairfield, he lived a relatively simple life, despite being diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, ADHD, and, recently, depression.
He spent nearly four years (2014-2017) at the Art Institute of Ohio - Cincinnati, before legal and financial issues forced it to close, and Jordann dropped out around that time. He has since transferred to the University of Cincinnati, where he will obtain a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Digital Media Collaborative.
Creation of the Twins
At the age of twelve, on a bored summer, he had this idea of two adventurous foxes. Around this time, he was majorly obsessed with cartoons like Xiaolin Showdown, The Penguins of Madagascar, and Squirrel Boy, and such anime as Naruto and One Piece.
Music played a big part as well, as he was drawn into the height of electropop in the late 2000s.
Building a franchise
As he was developing the world of TDT, he wanted to expand beyond making comics. He formed MajesticBlue Studios with the intent of creating a digital-first media business. Through its ColorWorld unit, he wanted to build a collective with like-minded creators and a hub for multiple creator-owned properties.
- His mother gave him the unusual spelling of his first name because he has seven letters in each part of his name.
